daoud stands out as a unique voice in the vibrant scene where jazz meets hip-hop, and electronic music. With a distinct approach, he draws inspiration from absurdism and a sense of not quite fitting in to craft bold compositions that challenge conventions and resonate with both enthusiasts and purists alike.
The problem child of the jazz world has already lit up prestigious stages like Festival Jazz sur son 31, La Rochelle Jazz, the Montreux Jazz Festival, as well as opening for artists like Erik Truffaz and Lakecia Benjamin. The band has also performed in legendary venues around France and abroad, including a packed Ronnie Scott's in London.
Since the release of his debut album in early 2024, the public and critical reception has been outstanding. As Jazzwise put it, "daoud dragged the audience out of the shade. A charismatic frontman and fiery trumpeter, he played lyrically and precisely, backed by a powerhouse band that can keep it cool or go explosive at any moment." According to Jazz Views, "GOOD BOY, a rambunctious debut album from trumpeter daoud, has been playing nonstop ever since I got a review copy." The album GOOD BOY was also named one of the top albums of the year by TSF Jazz, further cementing the unique talent of daoud and his band. This recognition marks a major milestone in his journey and paves the way for new musical and stage explorations.
